    Hi guys
I need to clone a child site but i need to keep the images and files linking to the original site. This is to save space as we don’t want to have duplicates of all images and files. Each site will have its own images in its own language which we will manually replace. Any way to solve this?

    John

Hi John – this is a possibility with our Pro version: there’s a checkbox for whether you want to clone uploads files or not.

However, please read our documentation article on it because every site is unique and depending on your configuration, theme, and plugins there may be issues with attachment ID’s, auto-generated asset URL’s, etc that you should be prepared to do some manual/custom handling for. If you’re already manually replacing images with language specific versions it might not even be an issue, but just want you to be aware that it’s possible but could potentially be complicated.

Thanks man, actually i just realised im using Multistore plugin https://woomultistore.com/ to share products so i actually dont want to copy the products over at all. ill just share the existing products from the main site on the new site. So is there a way to copy everything bar the products?

That’s a pro feature as well – you can select which post types you want to copy and which you don’t. I haven’t personally seen NS Cloner used with Multistore, but we offer a 30 day money back guarantee so if for any reason it didn’t work out, you’d be covered.
