TOC now including reusable block titles and the related posts plugin

Can you please also screenshot one of your reusable blocks so I can build one so replicate the issue?

Is the issue that the TOC is inserted more than once or something else?

Where can I link to a screenshot on here? This is literally just an Atomic Blocks “AB Call to Action” block, populated with the text you can see and a link for the button.

Oh, so the issue is simply that the heading in the CTA is in the TOC? That actually would be expected since it is a heading. Same with the testimonial.

That said. I just added a few filters which will manually excluded those two block headings from the TOC.

These filters will be included in the next update. It is a little late to push an update today so It’ll get release early next week. I am trying to hold off though, so I can debug another issue with a user with Elementor compatibility issues.

I think I have similar issues. The latest TOC version now includes headings that are outside the actual content area.
For example, I use WP_Product Review Lite and it adds the headings of this “module” as well, as well as the items of related posts, which come from the Jetpack plugin. on some of my posts I have a tab widget at the end. All the headings used in this will now be shown as well, and it will be actually shown twice, for whatever reason.
As the previous user mentioned. This just happened after updating to the latest version. Before it never showed them. Will this also be fixed or do you have to add some additional filters for that.

That content is indeed within the post content, that is who those plugins add the content to the page. ezTOC is just better at parsing the post content for headings.

I’ve added filters which will specifically exclude those headings. This will be in the next update to be release in the next few days.

Thanks man. Sounds good. It’s just since the version 2 update that it shows these headings as well. Great support.

I just release version 2.0.1 which should now exclude WP Product Review, JetPack Related Posts, Atomic Blocks CTA and WordPress Related Posts plugin headings.

As mentioned, in 2.0, ezTOC will, by design, be more thorough than 1.x version in looking for headings in page content to add to the TOC. It needed to be to better support poplar page builders such as Elementor and the new WP Editor.

Knowing that headings will need to be excluded, I had built in a few compatibility features which allow ezTOC to exclude specific page content section from TOC eligibility. These have to be added on a case by case basis.

Thanks for the update. But now it seems ezTOC is very thorough in filtering. It actually filters most of my regular headings out too.
