• Hello all! I’ve searched the internet for answers but still having problems trying to choose between Dropbox or Amazon S3 for delivery of digital files (Word documents) for a client website that sells over 400 documents.

It looks like Dropbox is easier to use but Amazon S3 is the standard.

Can anyone recommend from professional use, what you prefer and why? Thanks!

There’s really never been any standard in all the years I’ve been doing this. It all depends on where you want to store the files. I’ve stored them on the clients own servers and encrypted the URL.

It just comes down to cost and preference really.

Thanks Stef. Cost is not the issue but security and ease of use. It seems like Amazon S3 takes a lot more to set up and configure.

Nice to have wealthy clients then. ??

There’s no difference in security really. Amazon is just as susceptible to a hack as DropBox. I could hack either platform. Not saying I would, but you get the gist.

What matters is like you said, ease of use and to me cost.

I’ve used both, but I find using the clients box just as easy. As long as they pay for the storage.

I’m using DropBox to stream in videos for a client right now. Fun stuff.
