I fully understand this is a free theme and I am grateful for all the hard work that went into it but that doesn’t mean you should offer a faulty product only so you can upsell us on expensive add-ons to fix bugs that should not be in the program in the first place, such as sequential order numbers. That should be a default since companies are legally required to have sequential invoice numbers. In an ecommerce site, order numbers are equal to a brick and mortar invoice number.

    That said.

Storefront supposed to be a responsive theme. Regardless of what I do, I am unable to make this theme look on a mobile unit identical to the website. On the mobile unit images are crunched together, menu bars overlap other parts of the site, fonts are much too small and so on and so forth.

I went as far as installing a virgin setup of the storefront theme and without making any modifications of any kind, the storefront on a mobile unit does not look like that on a webpage.

The only thing that got my site to be idential on the mobile unit to my website was to delete the header.php file. Only problem there is that I am then forced to implement customization all over again from scratch.

I am not asking you to give us heaven on earth with your product and I do understand that you wish to make money off your ‘freebie’. I have no problem with that. But come on this is overdoing it don’t you think.

Check your support posts and you’ll find there are dozen upon dozen of people stating they can not get the mobile version of storefront to work properly. Yet you keep on insisting your theme is response. Well it isn’t, not completely at least.

If you have an update for that it would be nice that you give it to us. We are loyal to you, as proven by the many ecommerce sites using your platfrom. Many of them bought upgraded plugins from you.

So please support your loyal constituents and don’t leave us hanging. We just want your amazing theme to be fully responsive that’s all.

Sorry for the rant but it needed to be said.

Hopefully someone responds with positive feedback.

  • Hi, how are you wanting the mobile version of the site to display exactly? Typically, a responsive design will omit some design choices when viewing on mobile screens because not everything can be displayed on such a small browser width.

There may be a way to get the theme how you want looking on mobile if you have more specific changes you are wanting done.

Regarding the complaint about sequential order numbers, that would be an issue with WooCommerce ( https://www.ads-software.com/plugins/woocommerce/ ) and not the theme as the theme just displays the information but does not process any of the store options.

What’s right is right and as such I apologize for posting the wrong information about sequential order numbers. My mistake and I am sorry for that, sincerely.

As for the storefront theme layout of my ecommerce store I just want it such that I don’t have to implement additional PHP coding in pages (which I really do not want to do) to make the header display properly, have images not crunched together in product page, have the single-product page look readable, have the checkout page look readable, have the handheld footer bar not cover part of my website … and several more items.

My site is https://basketupbaby.com. I have removed all PHP code I had to add to make it mobile friendly. Compare the two (website and mobile) and see for yourself.

Thank you for yor responds. I do appreciate that.

One thing that would help me tremendously already with the mobile display is to have my website use the entire mobile screen width. While I have a background displayed with the regular site, I do not need that with the mobile version. Having my header menu (which is different from the mobile menu) fully displayed as well would also be wonderful.

I can pretty much take care of anything else I want to have adjusted with the mobile version.

    Thank you.

Hello again, it looks like some of the custom css you have applied is what is stopping the theme from displaying full width in mobile versions. When I load up a test install of Storefront on my local server and check it in a mobile browser width, the site displays across the entire screen even without the page template being set to full width.

I noticed in some of your custom CSS that you have

    .container {margin: 0 auto;max-width: 85%;padding: 0px 0px;background-color: white;}

Where the max-width is causing the site to not display fully across the screen. If I comment that out in the browser console, it gets the display to cover up a bit more of the overall screen real estate. Though it isn’t 100% perfect, I believe there is still some custom CSS somewhere that is holding it back.

thank you for the response. I will remove that CSS code and check for other areas where I may have “messed” it up.

    Thank you.

I wanted to take a moment and thank the Storefront staff for their excellent support, guidance and providing us with a beautiful WP theme.

Thanks to Jarret who instructed me to check my CSS customizations for errors I was able to find my mistakes and adjust the settings to make my mobile version look amazing.

Thank you. Please keep up the good work. I appreciate you guys (gals).
