    (I have 2.8.5, but I just installed wp and had the problem also with 2.8.4)
    I am able to upload a picture with the uploader, but It doesn’t show. You can only see a blank space (with a name in it) or a questionmark, dependable on the browser.
    I red all kind forum posts and tried all kind of solutions, but nothing worked yet.
    I really hope that someone can give me a clue!
    Thanks in advance ??

  • Check the settings on:
    Admin > Settings > Miscellaneous
    are correct to start with.

    Otherwise, check the permissions on your wp-content folder.

    Same problem here!
    Ive followed all the steps from the topic: Image/Media Uploader problems?
    but it still giving me trouble….

    This is really a prob. for me, because I purchased a new theme and I cannot upload the pictures manually because the theme is programed so wp can resize them to thumbnails… and this problem is messing everything up!

    Thanks!
    I checked the settings on Admin>Settings>Miscellaneous and
    I changed the ‘store uploads folder’ from wp-content to wp-content/uploads
    Everything works perfect now ??

    You’re both welcome, glad to be of assistance. ??

    I want to change the top image bar in the first page, but it seems I cannot uploaded sucessfully:

    The steps I did as following:
    1)I put my file(intend to upload)on my desktop;
    2)Go to Appearance > GM Theme Manager > Theme Settings > Theme Banner;
    3)Choose “image” under banner type;
    4)Under upload File column, browse the file I put on my desktop;
    5)Then click on the button of ”Save Theme Banner”, the message of “The theme banner has been changed to use an image” came up.
    6)But I cannot find the file I just uploaded in the drop-down menu.

    Could anyone can help me to solve this problem?
    Thanks!
