    Hi,

I’m experiencing a weird issue where two paragraphs are set to show as the same colour #198FB5 but one is lighter then the other. All my other pages are ok but on this page the paragraphs before the first blockquote:

“What really excites me every single day is the knowledge that every person and every business is unique – no two are ever the same.”

is darker than the next one after the first blockquote:

“It is probably tempting to try and do everything yourself. But why do that? Your time is far better spent on focusing on what you love and do best. So make life easy for yourself and look to work with me on the other parts!”

Inspecting them both in the browser shows that they have a hex value of #198FB5, yet when looking on screen the paragraph after the first quote slides in is a noticeably lighter and thus brighter blue font than the paragraphs before the first blockquote.

Can anyone offer any advice or reasons as to why this is happening?

  • Hi @markurs,

To me, it seems that this a problem of perception.

The yellow header draws more attention to it and thus the text seems lighter.
However, if I remove the blockquote and header from the source code, the text seems to have a consistent color:

Let me know if it makes sense.

    Hi Tony,

Makes perfect sense. Interesting that removing the blockquote in your screenshot makes the text run exactly the same colour. Could the blockquote be affecting it by passing on some properties? as the paragraph before the quote is a darker shade of blue than the paragraph after. The blockquote is also set to the blue #198FB5 but that runs a lighter shade as well, which i’m guessing is to do with it being an italic and a different font (Montserrat).

Sorry, I meant to attach a screenshot that the person I’m doing this for sent as they’ve highlighted this and won’t let it go.

The blockquote – from the stackable plugin – was passing on font styling to the blocks below. Redoing the blockquotes with a quote block from another plugin has solved this issue. Thank you for your help Tony.
