Can’t import channel

    Installed the plugin and generated the API key in Google Console. Activated the API for Youtube Data V3 api, set to Web server (javascript), set restrictions to domain name. Saved key in plugin settings.

    I went to enter the channel URL and also a video from the channel to retrieve the channel, but it fails: Sorry, that does not seem to be a link to an existing video. Please confirm that the link works in your browser, and that the owner of the video allowed embed sharing permissions (otherwise, contact the owner of the video to allow embedding). Then copy that full link in your address bar to paste here. If you are sure your link is correct, then (1) your API key may be too restrictive (check here) or (2) you have reached your Google quota (check here). You can apply to Google for a quota increase here.

    I created a new project after that, and tried changing the restriction to the server IP instead. Same results.

    The channel I’m adding is owned by a client and I have their channel login info. The channel and the video I tried adding are public and can be embedded.

    I also tried other videos just to test, and always get the same results. There is zero usage on the Google account so it’s not a quota issue.

    What happens if you test with without any restrictions (no IP, etc)?

    Ok that worked. I am able to restrict the APIs the key works for, but both IP based and URL based restrictions break it. I don’t like leaving the key open to any website / IP. Is this a known issue with the current version?

    What did you put for url based restrictions (which you probably mean HTTP referrer)?
    Did you include *.googleapis.com/* in there along with your own domain?
    If not, then you’re blocking Google itself from its own API.
