    Hi freeduke,

It seems the counters of ainize.ai run many hours behind the counters of the global overview at Johns Hopkins University.

e.g. Currently the counter at JHU states 227.643 / 9.318 / 84.532, where the counter of your plugin using ainize.ai shows 214.804 / 8733 / 83.206 at the same time.

Is there something that can be done about this difference on your side? More recent numbers would make the plugin much more valuable!

    Thanks for your beautiful work!

    Kind regards,
    Jack.

    Hi Jack,
Unfortunately there is nothing I can do about this delay at this time, unless we switch for another API.

But good news is, the api author knows this issue and he is working on it,

    See: https://github.com/Laeyoung/COVID-19-API/issues/10

when he finishes the job on his side, our data will be more time-efficient without any modification.

If you know any free, world wide fast coronavirus data API, recommendation is most welcomed.

Until then, we have to wait and see.

Thank you for the advise and thank you for using this plugin.

    Hi Freeduke,

Thanks for your quick reponse and solution. I understand now.

You are currently one of my most admired plugin authors, I hope you will develop more plugins with your quality, with most appreciation for your effort in this!

(I’m not native speaking English, hope you’ll understand what I mean)

    Best regards,
    Jack.

By the the way: How can I translate ‘Belgium’? I would like to see ‘Belgi?’ in the counters on my widget. It now shows ‘Belgium’. I created the language files but that doesn’t seem to help. I changed Belgium into Belgi? in your php pages, but that also does not seem to help.
If I need to start a new thread, just let me know ??

Thanks @jack-all now we have to wait for Dutch editor to approve your translations, then people in Belgium will receive a “Translation update” on their WordPress, then your translation will go alive.

I have to say, WordPress translation team are mostly volunteers, so the wait could be long.

I translated this plugin for other 10 languages are still waiting for approval….

@jack-all But I am planning for the next version, which contains all countries of the world, the translation work could be like a lot, then I will go to the “Translation Forum” to seek for help. ??

Thanks very much for the info Duke,
I’m now thinking about volunteering for the translation team.

In the meanwhile I changed corona-virus-data-public.js line 21 to read:
    $("#cov_country_name").append("Belgi?");

    Regards,
    Jack

    Hey,
When can we expect latest data ? Right now it seems it shows 12 hours behind data. I am from India and data seems to be older.
