• Downloadable and virtual product. Forced Downloads does not work correctly. Link to the product from Google Drive. When you try to download, it’s not the product that is downloaded, but an incomprehensible file in kilobytes. The file itself weighs a gigabyte.
When installing “Redirect only” – the link opens correctly. But the notification constantly arrives that change the option of loading the goods to the Forced Downloads. Forced Downloads does not work.

    Hi there,

It looks like the “Shareable link” from Google Drive basically gives a link to open a page for either viewing or downloading a file, rather than a direct link to download the file.

In my testing, when setting the “Shareable link” from Google drive as the URL for a downloadable WooCommerce product with “Force Download”, after purchasing and then downloading the file, it is either an “open” or “view” file, which seems to contain an HTML page which opens up to provide a link to download the file from Google drive.

    Are you seeing something similar?

Do you have the file in your Google Drive set to “anyone can view”? If using an external URL for the WooCommerce product, it needs to be a valid/accessible download URL (WooCommerce won’t log into your Google account on its own to access the file).

When you open up the “incomprehensible file”, does it begin with <!DOCTYPE html><html><head>?

Let me know about the above, or if you have any questions.

    Hello.
In the settings of the downloaded products, there is a redirect to the page to view the file, which can be further downloaded.
I need a forced download. But I do not have a forced download, the file does not download.

Downloading a file in an unknown format that weighs kilobytes. It does not open in a separate window; it is force downloads.

In the file settings on Google Drive, there is access for everyone who has a link.

I would be glad if you can help.
