editors cannot set redirects

My site has different user roles. Users with the role “editor” get an error “cannot find this redirect” when saving a redirected page. When I change their role to “admin” they can save the same page without an error.

Does this make sense to you? I see no option in the publish press capability manager to assign a capability for using the redirect plugin. Would I need to assign a special capability to editors to set redirects?
