Link to grouped product page instead of single product in cart

One option might be to set up redirections so the single product pages point to the overall grouped product. There are plugins that can do that for you or you could use .htaccess redirects too.

Another option would be to remove the links from the products in the cart. There is a snippet in this Business Bloomer post that can do that for you.

Thanks for your answers and ideas. While it would be possible to redirect all single products to their parent grouped project this seems to be very time-consuming and it has to be done again when new (grouped) products are added.

Also, deleting all links from the cart would kind of get rid of this problem but as we want to keep usability high I think linking products from cart is a feature that we should keep in carts.

So there is not a built in solution that single products always link to their grouped project? Or an add-on or something? Or would that work if we change something in the theme files maybe?

If you want to explore a way to do this via custom code, you could take a look at this Stack Overflow question:

The answer shows how to build a custom function that gets the overall grouped product’s URL. You could then use that in a template override of /templates/cart/cart.php to replace the URL of the cart items.

I haven’t tested that out, but it might be one possible way to do this. It would save you having to set up redirects but would take some custom coding. If you’d like someone to create that for you, there are freelance developers available at https://woocommerce.com/codeable/ who can do this for you.
