    Hey team,

After the WP 5.4 update, my images stopped loading on any page. After I disable the plugin everything goes back to normal. I have narrowed the issue down to the Lazy Loading feature. Once disabled everything goes back to normal.

I’m running the latest version of Divi.

    Thank you in advance!

    Regards,
    Viktor

I’ve switched to another plugin for Lazy Loading for now but it would be great if I can use W3 Total Cache for this feature as well.

    Hello @skylimity

    Thank you for the information.
We cannot check anything if you have another lazy-load plugin enabled. We need to check your HTML with W3 Total Cache Lazy load enabled and disabled.
    Thank you!

    Hello @skylimity

Any chance you can re-enable W3TC lazy loading so we can check this?
    Thank you!

Yes, I just enabled it. Have a look.

    Hello @skylimity

    Thank you for the information.
I can see that W3 Total Cache lazy load is enabled but I am not seeing any issues. All the images are loading properly
    Please check the screenshot.
    Thank you!

The footer and the email subscribe sections have images too.

When I tried the homepage today none of the images loaded. Once I refreshed a couple of times they appeared but the last two sections didn’t have the images as in the screenshot.

    Hello @skylimity

Can you please disable the lazy load so I can check those images?
Just to confirm everything was working fine until you updated WP to 5.4?
    Thank you!

    Disabled.

    Hello @skylimity

Thank you. This is interesting. I’ve checked on one of my installations using Divi and WP 5.4 and there are no issues with lazy loading. All images are loading just fine.
Are you experiencing the issue only with those two images or are there more?
And once again can you confirm the issue started when you updated WP to 5.4?
Can you please re-enable Lazy load so we can check for any JS errors?
    Thank you!

    Hey Marko,

When I loaded the site today none of the images loaded. I had to refresh a couple of times for them to load. And again the bottom two images never loaded.

Both sections are Global Sections. Might that be a problem?

Yes, the issue started after updating to 5.4

I’ve re-enabled Lazy Loading once more.

    Viktor

    Hello @skylimity

Once again thank you for the information.
I am guessing that you you are using Chrome. Can you please open your website in another browser, possibly firefox and see if the images are loaded?
    Thank you!

I tried Microsoft Edge, first load – none of the pictures loaded. Refreshed – all of them loaded.

    Hello @skylimity

Thank you for the information. I’ve tried resizing the Chrome window, and after doing so, the images appear.
We are checking this and I’ll get back to you as soon as we investigate.

If that may help, I am facing the same issue on my websites after updating to 5.4. I am using optimole plugin, but the problem is identical: the lazyloading option of the plugin seems to block the loading of images. When I deactivate lazyloading (not the plugin) the images show normally (also they don’t seem to be resized properly).
My rating on GTMetrix dropped because of that. Could it be an issue with WP rather than the plugins?

    Hello @yvancg68

    Thank you for the information.
Could you please share your website URL and specify which images are not working as expected?
Just to confirm one more time, there was no issue prior to upgrading to WP 5.4?
    Thank you!
