Split Test Sidebar text with Google Optimizer

  • This is actually a question about both optimizer and wordpress. I have split tests working on my blog, but what I’d like to do is test a bit of sidebar text that’s links to my book on amazon.

    Google seems to want a specific page to start on — there doesn’t seem to a way to test something that appears on all pages of a site.

    Even if I figured out a way to shove the tracking code into the sidebar in a way that google understood, the plugin I’m using (“Google Website Optimizer for WordPress”) only adds code to specific posts and pages.

    What’s my best bet here to test changes outside individual posts?
