Thanks, but this is slightly different than what I am looking for. I want force new user to register with email address as username to be used as user_login value in users table.

I wrote an enhanced version of CYC that does that. You can get it from https://ootips.org/yonat/cyc.php.gz (I wasn’t able to contact the author of CYC to merge it into the trunk).

that sounds great, but it looks like I am missing essential parts fro, register-plus:

the most important one is the double opt-in feature as I send a newsletter to my users. this is the corresponding feature i nregister-plus:

‘Requires new registrations to click a link in the notification email to enable their account.
Grace Period (days):
Unverified Users will be automatically deleted after grace period expires’

any solution to this?

CYC doesn’t seem to offer this feature ??
