• I am building a website with a private area to which only users which have paid a subscription fee can have access.

In this area, some videos will be published which must not be downloaded or shared.

This is the problem: how can I protect these videos?

Someone told me I need to convert them to .m3u8 so that, even if downloaded, they can not be played.

    Would this be enough?

    Thank you

  • This isn’t really a WordPress question. Someone with more knowledge about video security could probably help you but I will say that pretty much any method you use has a work around so if someone wants to download your video, they typically can find a way as long as they have access to the page the video is on. Changing the file extension wouldn’t be enough.
