I’ve been using duplicator for a number of years without issue. On using it for a new website I find I can’t download the package .zip archive after building the package. The PHP file comes down ok. Looking at the web browser console there’s a 404 reported for the .zip when clicking on the download button after package build. The .zip is in wp-snapshots and I have downloaded it from there. The name of the .zip and the name of the file cited in the get request are the same. Bit mystified as to why this download operation no longer works …

  • Hey @escaladieu

Thanks for the feedback! There are a few items in the FAQ that may provide a solution to this issue, this one may get you going.

    ? ? – Why can’t I download files / see a 404.3 / get a corrupted installer?
    ? ? – https://snapcreek.com/duplicator/docs/faqs-tech/#faq-package-200-q

Let me know if this helps~

    Thanks Cory!
The issue seems to be that the directory wp-snapshots has permissions of 0750. If I add 0755 permission then I can download the file. This seems to be a new feature from my previous duplicator usage – I never had to change the permissions before.
On another topic – is it OK to delete the contents of wp-snapshots?

    Best regards

    Hey @escaladieu,

Your host might have changed the permissions on that folder, you can remove the wp-snapshots directory if you want as long as you don’t have any packages in the packages screen.

    Hope that helps~
