What happened to the numbered list?

I purchased the pro version years ago before you made it a free plugin, and there was a numbered list display option. Now there are numerous other ways to display the posts, and I found your CSS and directions to add it to my theme’s style.css file. My theme developer has a note in that particular file to not add anything there but to the app.css file instead. When I did that, only the vertical line before the post title shows… no numbers. Is there some better way to get the numbered list again? That was such a cool feature.
