    Hi @paulcobb

Generally when you click the “Upgrade WooCommerce Database” button, the status for the notice in the database is changed to actioned. If this status is stuck as unactioned in the database, it will cause the notice to continuing displaying, but not allowing you to perform the update again in an attempt to dismiss the notice.

Something I would recommend is to check your database for the wc-update-db-reminder notice, and if it’s set to unactioned, change the status to actioned.

    Here’s how to check this:

    • Access the wc_admin_notes table
    • Locate the wc-update-db-reminder entry
    • Change the status of that notice from unactioned to actioned
    • Save

    Hi @amandasjackson
I edited the db as suggested but the notice still remains and will not dismiss.

    Hi @paulcobb

Sorry to hear that this didn’t help. As a next step, I’d recommend deactivating and then reactivating the WooCommerce plugin to see if that helps to get this sorted.

This is still an issue with 4.1.
Dubious of disabling plugin on a live running multisite

    Hello,

I have the same issue. And I think (am sure) I’m not the only one. So can you please give a solution without disabeling the plugin?

    Thanks very much,

    Dennis

    Hi,
same problem here after updating WooCommerce to 4.1.0
I disabled and reenabled the plugin but it didn’t work.

Changing wc-update-db-reminder value in wc_admin_notes table, as suggested by Amanda, solved the issue.

    Thanks

    Hi,

When WC ver 4.x came out several customer issues were reported so I waited until ver 4.2.0 to update (thinking it would be debugged).
I tried the update on a staging site and I have this same issue.
Deactivating/Activating the plugin doesn’t fix. I didn’t edit the database as Amanda suggested because I have no confidence that many other reported bugs have been resolved either.
I really have to wonder why after all this time this relatively simple issue has not been corrected?

This is still an issue with 4.5.1
I am having to manually edit the database each time there is a database update.
    It is a multisite installation.

    Open phpmyadmin.

    1. Click the website database in the left menu.

    (the right panel will populate)

    2. Use the right panel search box at the top, search for: wc_admin_notes

    3. click it to open wc_admin_notes and

    4. search for: wc-update-db-reminder

    5. To edit wc-update-db-reminder and remove the message, find and change unactioned to actioned

    click go at the bottom

    joy joy joy

refresh your WP page, the message should disappear

    HTH

As always, backup your database before making any changes

Yes @username12 I understand how to do it and have done so several times.
What I want is for this to happen automatically as it should and did until recently!

Hi I have woo 4.9.2 and issue is still there. I do not have
wc-update-db-reminder in wc_admin_notes O.o We searched the entire database for this text, it is nowhere.

I have WooCommerce 5.0.0 and also see this bug! I had to manually edit the database as described by SSVapes as it was the only way to clear out this persistent message.

I should not have to edit db tables to get the nag to go away. Seriously… this was reported many versions ago and should be fixed.

    Version 5.1.0
Bug obviously still hasn’t been fixed.

Very annoying, since it uses 5cm deep and whole width of my screen/window.
