Change image without selecting size

Hi,

I would like to be able to change the image gallery (multiple images) when selecting one variation (not multiple).

You have posted a youtube demo on how to do this, however this removes the size attribute from the product and therefore is unaware of stock inventory.

Is there a way to change the gallery images first and then check stock inventory once the size is selected?

Note: here is the interaction I would like but I need it to control stock inventory
