I have followed instructions given to a similar complainant regarding the date format and used this format with a Text Edit CSV file altered to be a UTF-8 one.

    I.e you said:
“We deeply apologize for the inconvenience you had to face. Kindly try importing with below date format:
    DD-MM-YYYY HH:MM
    Eg: 16-04-2018 11:51”

So I did this to ensure I could visibly control the date format. The end result is that uploading this file meant the comments do not appear in the comment area at all.

So I opted to use Open Office spreadsheets. The comments appear perfectly apart from the date which consistently appears as 01/01/1970.

It has been used on a client’s brand new WordPress site with the most updated plugin version and no other plugins to clash with it other than the WP Classic plugin and I still get the 1970 date.

Any. advice on what to do to correct this.

    Hi @jamiemlr,

We have tested it in our test environment and were unable to reproduce the issue with the date format DD-MM-YYYY HH:MM. Please share your importing CSV file by uploading it to Google drive or any other similar services and share the link. Or else you may please send it to us via support.

For any future users with same problem. The Web Toffee guys helped me out and showed me that I had to change the date formula of the CSV file so that the year doesn’t keep bouncing back to YY. For some spreadsheets (i.e the one I was using) the formula will be YY by default. It should be YYYY so just alter the formula of the year cell in your CSV file. It’s really easy to do, just Google it.

Or just use the example CSV file they give you in the plug in.
