Pagespeed very bad

Hello,

The pagespeed of the startpage of apartment-schoenwies.at is very bad.

I included more than 20 images into the meta slider, which is the header of this page.
The images all have more than 100 kb.

3 questions:
As it seems, all of the images are loaded all at once … am I right?
Is there a built-in possibility to optimize the performance?
Is it possible, to have different image sizes on mobile devices?
