Not Impressed by This Feature
-
Rank Math is performing quite well at the moment, so I decided to add my first blog post using the RM plugin.
All was going well until I saved the draft, then up popped another option – ‘Link Suggestions’, which looked really cool!
However I tried both versions, ‘insert link in content’ and ‘add link to clipboard’ and they both failed miserably.
On the ‘insert link in content’ option, it took over the whole of my footer top bar and removed what was in there originally.
On the ‘add link to clipboard’ option, you could see that it was trying, but it imposed a huge and distorted twitter card type image, but at least this way I had some control over it.
Ended up having to cut/paste the whole post and delete it, then create a new post without the Link Suggestions added.
I’m guessing that this is designed to remove the need for any theme or plugin ‘related posts’ options, so is there a way that you can either:
Specify exactly where the link is placed when using the ‘insert link in content’ option,
or
Shrink the images that are added when using the ‘add link to clipboard’ option?
Oh, and I use the classic editor so this option of dragging and dropping the links will not work – not that it would work anyway if it takes over the whole footer top bar.
Thanks for any info.
