Font size/weight 101, across all browsers

I’m going back to basics here and asking how font size and weight settings work? Why do mine look different on each browser? On Firefox they appear larger and stronger than they do on Chrome and Safari. Can anyone share an explanation or link to educate me?

They look pretty close to me. Remember, this isn’t print. Web browsers have subtle differences.
