I uploaded all-in-one-seo and google sitemap plugins to my server space, but they don’t show on my blog. When i check under file management on my cpanel, they are in the right folder, but when i login to my blog to activate them, they are showing.
I tried uploading some more from through my blog, but it tells me that the plugins are already in the plugin folder,—which is true, but they don’t show. Is there something i am doing wrong? When i uploaded them to my first blog i didn’t have any problems. I even tried deleting and re-uploading, but it still didn’t solve the problem.
I desperately need help, i am new to wordpress.

Do you have any plugins already installed and showing properly in the Manage Plugins screen?

Also, maybe you should try finding and installing a very simple/demo plugin, just for the sake of testing. I’m sure you could find something “simple” somewhere in the WP Extend Plugins Repository.

Also, maybe try logging in to WordPress Admin via another browser, just in case your 1st browser is caching pages.

Yes, i have plugins already installed and showing on my file manager in the right directory. I also uploaded some wordpress themes and they are showing fine. I have cleared cache in my computer and tried using a different browser, but they still don’t show on the plugins page on my blog though they are showing on the server.

They actually appear on my first blog (primary one), but the second one is an addon, but has its own directory. Unfortunately, the two plugins are the most important ones for my blog (all-in-one-seo and google sitemap).

    Any more suggestions?

are you positive that you have NOT nested the directories? thats what it sounds like to me.

check my videos for what nesting plugins means:

Glad to hear the problem was solved!

Kazimingi: So, just the clarify, was the problem that the 2 missing plugins weren’t being placed directly in the plugins directory, and maybe were placed 1 or 2 levels deeper — inside another folder?

Please i need help, I was building a new blog and after uploading my theme and Google sitemap plugin it asked me to upgrade to a newer version of the sitemap plugin automatically. As soon as i did it came back with the following error. Now i can’t even login to my wordpress account of my blog. How do i fix it since i cannot even login to my account.

Warning: Cannot modify header information – headers already sent by (output started at /home/makeagen/public_html/hakunamatatatravel/wp-content/themes/Peregrinator/functions.php:554) in /home/makeagen/public_html/hakunamatatatravel/wp-includes/pluggable.php on line 868

    Somebody help!

    Kazimingi:

That error usually occurs when a changed .php file accidentally includes anything (even empty lines) after the ?> at the end of the file.

Check each of the files you changed/uploaded (Theme files, Google Sitemap plugin, etc.) and make sure that for each of the files there are no newline characters or whitespace – or anything – at the end of the files. From the looks of it, the culprit might be the Peregrinator ‘functions.php’ file, but it could be another one.
