    The update tonight to Version: 1.5.53 (I think, there were two to updates right together) fatally crashed my site, but I don’t know why or if anyone else had a problem. I couldn’t even access the WP admin panels. I had to have the hosting company go in and disable the plug-in to get it back up. I have never had an issue with it before and liked it very much and before I redesign my site to address not having the plug-in I thought I would see if this was a problem others were having that was being quickly addressed or if it was specific to my site.
    Thanks!

  • I have run into this problem with certain theme/plugin combinations with regard to the php version being used. I had a site that I had to drop the php version to 7.1 in order for it to work, however my personal site had the same issues as yours…along with the same lack of solution, other than removing the plugin. NOTE: if you have access to your cpanel, you don’t need your hosting company to do this for you…you can login to the cpanel, go to the file explorer, then the public_html folder, wp-vontant, and then plugins and delete to plugin folder. Then you will get into your site from the wp-admin logon. You should enable wp debugging, so that instead of a bland screen, you have an error message displayed telling you which plugin is giving trouble…

    I have experienced a similar problem this afternoon. My host was able to disable the plugin so we can now access the our site publicly and through the WP administration login page. When I attempted to update the plugin I received the following error message –

    Fatal error: Allowed memory size of 306184192 bytes exhausted (tried to allocate 20480 bytes) in /homepages/28/d121196907/htdocs/clickandbuilds/GreenMountainRegionPCA/wp-content/plugins/photo-gallery/framework/BWGOptions.php on line 330.

    Any suggestions are most welcome.

    kshawk108 (@kshawk108) – Thank you for that additional information. I appreciate that. It’s too bad about the photo gallery. I’m going to go try and find another one that might work in its place. Fingers crossed! In the meantime, if anyone figures out a solution (like the developers perhaps), that would be great too! ??

    photo gallery plugin crashed my site. Prevented landing page to load. No access to any other pages.

    @wpforum1aai similar to you.

    file BWGOptions.php ….
    line 330 $options = json_decode($options);
    Dirty solution via cpanel\public_html/wp-content/plugins/#photo-gallery

    Note the # symbol which prevented the plugin from starting allowing me to get back my website.

    My site has been down for days.
    I lowered my php to 5.6 from 7.x

    Site working now.
