    I have had nothing but issues with the Yoast Sitemap. Google Console never indexes it. I was getting back into SEO and am currently updating my site and trying to move up the rankings. it Should be pretty easy but I realized my sitemap hasn’t been indexed for a very long time. Pretty certain this is the Yoast site map activation.
    Why Does Google not index my site when I submit the Yoast sitemap link!!!!

    The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

    Hi @diggetydog

    Can you confirm you’ve already submitted your sitemap to Google Search Console as per this article — https://yoast.com/help/submit-sitemap-search-engines/

    If so, can you then check the last read date in the Sitemaps section of Google Search Console?

    I have similar issues, 90% of links of all of my sites are shown as not indexed due to duplicity and then it says there are no issues at the same time. This is very strange.

    Also, I have tried to resubmit many times in last few days and it says last scan performed 02/2020 or 04/2020 etc. its like it has been frozen or something.

    I have same issue, some random post(ranked on 1st page) in excluded list in sitemap, crawled – currently not index. And for other post, when im using url inspection it showing, indexed but not submitted in sitemap.
    Don’t know, it’s Yoast issue or Google

    Hi @diggetydog,

    Once you’ve submitted your sitemap to Google Search Console, Googlebot should crawl it soon after. The Yoast plugin then pings Google to notify them whenever you make a change to your site. Can you please check what the last crawl date of your sitemap is in Google Search Console?

    @narubi your issue seems to be different since you mention “duplicity” warnings in Google Search Console. Can you please create a new forum topic for this?

    @debdas:
    The “indexed but not submitted in sitemap” URLs are those that were found by Google through their crawling of the web, without having to find them in the sitemap. It’s possible that Google either indexed the URLs before they were added to the sitemap, that they found the URLs from third-party links, etc.

    It’s important to note that this is not an error or a warning. This is just a comment on their end, letting you know they found the URL through other means.

    If you have more information, please create a separate forum thread.
