Problem with WP on Ubuntu LAMP installation

  • I’m migrating a wordpress site to an Apache2, PHP and MySQL stack on ubuntu 18.0.4 but i’m having problems configuring it to work properly …

    Apache seems to be working

    mysqld is listening on port 3306, or at least something is listening on 3306. I have bind_address = 127.0.0.1 in the mysql conf file …

    I have the wordpress site enabled on apache …

Site mysite already enabled

    The error log for apache2 shows nothing … same for the access log

    I know php is running because I can access the page localhost/wp-admin/install.php

    
Already Installed
You appear to have already installed WordPress. To reinstall please clear your old database tables first.

    But the root index.php gives me 

    
This site can’t be reached localhost refused to connect.
Try:

Checking the connection
Checking the proxy and the firewall
ERR_CONNECTION_REFUSED

    installed phpmyadmin successfully but can’t access anything at localhost/phpmyadmin either ??

    sort of running out of ideas …

    Firewall (with ports deny?, or A/V running?)
    netstat for tcp ?
    You need to be listening on 8080 : ng serve –host 0.0.0.0 –port 8080

    No firewall. No av. Ubuntu.

    The install file runs fine. But gives me the message included above.

    I’m out of ideas.

    When you say “you are migrating a site” – what do you mean by that?
    You mean from a server to local, or local to local, or one domain to another, etc ?
