That is indeed strange. With default settings, I was unable to reproduce the issue in a test environment.

That said, I could reproduce the issue if the page had a custom canonical set without the trailing slash. Please edit the blog page, go to the Yoast SEO meta box and expand the ‘Advanced’ section. Under the canonical, is the blog page link missing the trailing slash? This guide will walk you through how to check the custom canonical.

https://flintobox.com/blog is the WordPress Address / Site address of this blog.My understanding is that the canonical URL of the site address will always have a ‘/” added by Yoast SEO.

Also, the link you talk about gives information to configuring canonical for page and posts. I don’t see a configuration for home page / front page/ site url

Let me know how to change this

    Hi @vijayflinto

Testing this on our end, even when the WordPress Address/ Site Address URLs don’t have the trailing slash, the Yoast plugin is outputting the URL with the trailing slash.

If you were to change the URLs in the Settings, is the issue resolved? While this should be perfectly safe, we always recommend having a backup before changing these WordPress settings.

No. WordPress removes the trailing slash and it doesn’t seem to be the recommended way as well ( to have a trailing slash in WordPress Address/ Site Address URLs )

@vijayflinto Can you please next perform a conflict check to see whether another plugin or theme is interfering with the output in any way? We have a guide on how to perform a conflict check here: https://kb.yoast.com/kb/how-to-check-for-plugin-conflicts

We are going ahead and marking this issue as resolved due to inactivity. If you require any further assistance please create a new issue.
