On one site, I click “Click here to speed up your site now” and the pop-up comes up, stays there for a few seconds, then jumps from 0-100 and says it’s done. Refresh the admin, and the “Yoast SEO can now store your site’s SEO data in a smarter way!” notice still shows.

    Hi @burlingtonpress,

We’re sorry to hear you are having issues with the 14.0 and we apologize for any issues that this might have caused on your site.

Can you please try the following?

    1) Install & activate the Yoast Test Helper plugin
    2) Go to Tools -> Yoast Test
    3) Hit the “Reset indexables & migrations” button
    4) Delete your current Yoast SEO plugin installation.
    5) Re-install Yoast SEO Premium 14.0.4
6)Click the “Click here to speed up your site now” button.

Can you please let us know if this solves the issue on your site?

After following these steps, the indexing process appears to have taken place, but after refresh, I’m still getting the “Yoast SEO can now store your site’s SEO data in a smarter way!” notice.

How can I check if it worked and maybe the notice can just be hidden?

    Hi @burlingtonpress ,

If the notice is still appearing, it’s possible that the process did not work correctly.
Can you please go to SEO > Tools and check if there’s a green checkmark next to the ” “Speeding up your site” section?

If there is, the process has been completed and the notice you are seeing might be cached. Can you please clear any caching plugins/server-side caching/CDN you might have, as well as your browser cache and check if this clears the notice?

No, it has a button to “Speed up your site”.

    Hi @burlingtonpress,

Thank you for your reply and continued patience.

If the button still shows, we believe that there might be a conflict preventing the indexing from completing. In order to troubleshoot, we want a bit more information about your site.

    A) Are you running the latest WordPress 5.4.1? If not, can you please update and check whether the issue persists?
    B) Are all plugins and themes up to date? If not, can you check if you click the button after installing all open updates works?
    C) Does your site meets the plugin requirements found here: https://yoast.com/help/plugin-requirements/?

If all of the above is in place and your site meets the requirements, we would like you to run the indexing process in the troubleshooting mode of the Health Check plugin. This temporarily disables all plugins and switches to a default theme (only for your user, site visitors are not affected). In this mode, only activate Yoast SEO and go to SEO > Tools and click the Speed up my website button and check if it completes + if the checkmark then shows for you. You can find more information about the Health Check plugin here: https://yoast.com/help/how-to-check-for-plugin-conflicts/.
