How to stop sample page appearing in Google search results

  • I seem to have a non-existent page showing up in Google search results for my website that I can’t get rid of. This page does not show up in the list of pages in the WordPress dashboard so there is no way to way to edit / delete it as far as I can see. Will it eventually just disappear from Google? or is there some way I can remove it?

  • Recreate your sitemap and submit it to Google Webmaster tools.

    If you haven’t created sitemap yet, please create sitemap and submit it. This will help the said page to be removed from Google index faster.

    I have just resubmitted a sitemap to Google, fingers crossed!.
