• G’day WP team,
for the last few days I have been having a problem with wp adding replicated links at the top of my pages whenever I add a new link to any particular page.

when I add a link to a page and save the page the link will appear at the top (as well as where I insert it)… when I add another link the new link appears at the top taking the place of the old link – so its replicating the last link that I insert.

It’s ‘easy” to fix – BUT time consuming to have to delete the link at the page top every time!!! so something appears not quite right.

    leave it with you.
    sincerely
    Bruce

  • Are you meaning that it will add a new link to the menu when you’re creating a new page?

    negative.
When I add in a new link to my list anywhere on the page I am working on – a “replicated” [ extra / doubled up / copied / same as my original link on the page ] always appears at the top of the page [ NOT the menu but the top of the page ]…
please refer and follow the page link that I included in my first initial report above and scroll down to the first link in the first (left hand ) column [ as an example].

If I add a consecutive ( second) link to my page this too is “replicated” at the top of the page – the consecutive link replaces the first link ( does away with the first link) in the same position.
This position [ at the top of the page ] is at the start of page wording…

I hope this is explains my concern with what I believe to be a problem with the WP program because this problem has only been evident for the last couple of weeks or so…

    sincerely

@men4wp I’ve just checked your site and didn’t see any strange.
Are you using any menu plug-in?

    Hi
    thanks for your time….
just to clarify – when you looked at my website page, can you verify that you did not see any link at the top of the page [ BELOW THE SCROLLING PICTURES)?
May I encourage you to have another look (below the pictures) and you will see at the start of the wording is a link ( I have just this minute highlighted the link in RED)….
this is the link that I placed (NOT at the top) but in the first left hand column.

    thank you in anticipation…

PS… I am NOT using any MENU plugin- this problem is NOTHING to do with the menu.
    thanks

I have replied to your email with an attached picture of the issue.
Your screen print sent to me does show the problem ( the link in RED ) at the top of the page UNDER THE PICTURE….

    leave it with you

This issue is not resolved… however in light of the various anomalies that seem to surround the issue AND keeping in mind that the latest WP version is all about blocks…. I am looking for some confirmation that – with my site using an older theme that is possibly clashing with the new WP update (ie – the blocks) and that the page area might be “responding” as a whole block?
[It mattered not where I placed my new link – it always replicated at the top of the page as well as where the new link was inserted] .
    Any thoughts anyone….

    leave it with whomever
    sincerely

@men4wp I have not received any photo, you can’t send it to the WordPress mail, you have to post it on a 3rd party site and insert a link here..
