Will Jetpack ever allow full content to be distributed in their updates to subscribers? Is it something possibly in the works?

    Hi –

Thanks for writing to us. I’m happy to provide some more information but I want to be certain that I understand the request. Please share a bit more information and an example of how you’d like to see that work. Thanks!

As it stands the Jetpack blog subscription only emails out an excerpt of the posts (with a button to “read more.” Will there be a time when we have the option to allow the entire post to go out to subscribers?

So you can actually decide if you want your visitors to receive the full post or just an excerpt. Go to your WordPress.com dashboard Manage>Settings>Writing>Feed settings and disable the option to Limit feed to excerpt only.

You can also find these settings in WP-admin:

I learn something new every day!

Thanks so much! Just two more follow-ups:

    1. Will the post’s featured image be visible in the subscriber’s email?

    2. Is it possible to import subscribers from a third party such as Mailchimp into Jetpack subscriptions?

If you only display an excerpt there will not be a featured image displayed. I suggest setting up a test site where you can get all your settings just write by checking the post notifications in your own email — then go ahead and make changes on the live site.

There’s not a way to automatically import subscribers that way. You would also need their permission to do so if it were possible.
