Problem between Contact Form 7 and MailPoet

In ‘Contact Form 7’ I entered two Email addresses (multiple mailboxes) separated by commas (“,“) in the ‘To’ field (where the form should be sent to). That always worked fine.

But since I turned on the ‘MailPoet Sending Service’ option in MailPoet (which takes over all sending service and should work better than using the standard WordPress sending method), the Contact Form 7 forms are only sent to the first Email address I filled in. The form will not be sent to that second Email address.
Also, the extra Cc and Bcc headers are not sent.

Does anyone also suffer from this?
And most importantly, can it be solved?

    Greetings, Theo

  • Hello @theofama

Sorry to hear about the problem you’re having using Contact Form 7 and MailPoet.

Unfortunately, we do not support CC, BCC or multiple TO when sending transactional emails using the MailPoet Sending Service.

To fix this, you can set your website to send contact form emails via the default sending method instead of MailPoet’s configured sending method. Simply go to MailPoet Settings >> Advanced Tab, look for the setting “Send all site’s emails with…” and choose the option “The default WordPress sending method (default)”.

I would like to chip in here and point out something else which may or may not be related. I have raised a ticket on it in the Mailpoet support thread and Contact Form 7. I use both on around 50+ sites. I have noted an interaction between them which has only recently occurred. There never used to be an interaction between them. In my case, either one or other of them stops sending, turn one or the other off and the other one resumes working. I cannot see exactly what is going on but it only occurs if you are using WP Mail. If you go direct to PHP(mail) it does not happen. It could be hosting related for me if I am the only case. I have two cases like this now. I have got around it by using WP-SMTP and setting up a sending email account using SMTP and set both Contact Form and Mailpoet to use them. That has fixed my problem. It may or may not fix yours, but maybe worth a try.

    Hello @wysija
Okay i got it, Thanks you for your response.

    Hello @wingers574
I used the Easy WP SMTP plugin, but I deactivated it when I started using the ‘MailPoet Sending Service’ in MailPoet. It had stopped working since then.
Now I have disabled the ‘MailPoet Sending Service’ and reactivated the ‘Easy WP SMTP’ plugin.
And now CC, BCC and multiple TO works again.

    Thank you for your response.

    Greetings, Theo

I noticed a the simular problem. I can only use mailpoet and contact form 7 together if I send both with wp easy smtp. But I I use the smtp of mailpoet next to contact form 7 via easy smtp, contact form 7 does not send mail anymore (but the test email of easy smtp still works) Or If I use the mailpoet sending service, also contact form 7 does not work anymore (and also now the easy smtp test mail still works). I actually would like to use mailpoet sending service and contact form 7 togheter. How can I fix this problem?

    Greetings
    Stijn
