• We have been using Elementor for over a year now and have just realised in our posts we have unexpected spans we did not input ourselves.

    An example is like this:

    <span style=”font-size: 17px; font-style: normal; font-weight: 400;”>Paragraph text here.?</span>

My site is set to use these options by defaults. It’s not a noticeable issue on desktop. However with mobile scaling it can be seen. Google has also noticed it and has flagged posts as text too close together.

Thinking this was our own doing (paste from a word document for example), I have checked recent posts where we know we have not used an external editor and we see sporadic insertion of spans.

    Is this an Elementor bug?

After completing some testing I think I have found the action which creates this code.

I put two paragraphs into the text editor section.
I backspace the second paragraph into the first, realise what I have just done and then hit return.
This is all done in the main editor, rather than the editor on the left hand panel.

The result from a test post:

    <p>This is the first paragraph.</p><p><span style=”font-size: 17px;”>this is paragraph number.</span></p>
    <p></p>
