Hi, I wanted to know if it is possible to enable thumbnails on mobile devices. Currently, only the names of the posts and rank (1,2,3…) show on mobile. I am using another plugin for recent posts and that one shows thumbnails on mobile.

I hope you can help me. If there is a code to alter on the php files that will allow this, please let me know where exactly to paste what code.

    Thanks!

    What’s your site URL?

The plugin doesn’t differentiate between mobile or desktop for any of its displays – at least not yet.

I am on localhost. Is that why? When I check the preview (mobile) on my wordpress/theme, it shows no thumbnails. Also when I preview it on my actual mobile, the thumbnails wont show up.

I’m not sure but might be – I’ve never tested mobile and local host.

Any chance you can test this online? I use the plugin on my sites with thumbnails and see the same thumbs.

I guess when I launch the website, it should become clear. Maybe it wont give me an issue when the website is live since you said it should work!

Happy to take a look once it is live if the issue persists.

Sure. Unrelated question. I have not been able to find a free wordpress plugin that ranks the top authors which is very shocking. There was one called wp author ranking but it has been discontinued 5 years ago. The only one I could locate is a paid plugin called Autor Stats Pro created by 99robots/dashboard. Its a great plugin but costs 30 dollars per year (the basic package). Do you know any plugin that can rank authors (by views, number of posts etc) like your plugin does with posts?

I wonder if it would be a good idea for you to make such a plugin. I dont know if there is much of a market out there but for multiauthor blogs, blogs with many guest authors, and magazines (newspaper) websites, it would make a lot of sense.

Please let me know if you any such plugin or even some code (if it is basic enough, I could try to implement it), before I spend 30 bucks per year.

I think we can do that with my plugin but I never thought about this feature. I’ll need some time to figure out how that would work, but am sure we can find a solution!

That would be great! I was about to buy the plugin yesterday but stopped. I hope you can add this feature. I would love to showcase the most viewed authors who submit their work on my website! Will this task take you a lot of time or is it easy enough?

Hope you give us some good news soon.
And if for some reason, you dont want to or cant do it, let me know so I buy the plugin xD

    Good luck!

I’m working on an add-on plugin that should be able to showcase your most viewed authors.

I’ll let you know when I release it.

Thanks! Looking forward to some good news soon! I will rate the plugin 5/5 now.

    It’s on Github currently: https://github.com/WebberZone/popular-authors/

I’ve submitted to the WordPress repository and awaiting feedback/approval.

Dang bro! that was quick! Thank you so much! I hope it helps your main plugin as well, because I have NOT seen anyone else have this feature!

Cant wait to test it out myself!

    I hope so too!

Oh i forgot to mention one thing. In my blog there are many articles that are written by multiple authors (2 and above). I hope the plugin will give all authors credit rather than the 1st. For example, lets say authors A, B, and C have written an article and the total views their article got was 1000. I hope when the plugin ranks the authors, it will know to give A,B, and C 1000 views rather than only A.

I didn’t know you could do that with multiple authors – is there a specific plugin for that?

Right now, the plugin pulls out the top authors based on the post_author field of the post – this is standard WP behaviour.
