Well, native lazyload is coming in WordPress 5.5, but you can test this immediately by disabling lazyload in AO and installing https://www.ads-software.com/plugins/wp-lazy-loading/ ??

Today I noticed that some changes were applied to Pagespeed algorithm and my score was decreased
Remove unused JavaScript – this thing appeared that wasnt before.

Is it really something changed? What should I do?

Yes, Google Pagespeed Insights has changed significantly, see e.g. https://community.centminmod.com/threads/how-to-use-webpagetest-org-for-page-load-speed-testing.13859/#post-84015 for an explanation.

re. unused JS; that indeed is new, but test your site with ?ao_noptimized=1 appended to the URL to see info about the original JS (which AO combines).

I tried to combine and not to JS script by AO. There is always Remove unused JavaScript presents. Js scripts are loaded with wp_enqueue_script true to footer.

Do you plan to update plugin according to the new rules, is there something to do?

Added: Score is almost the same if I turn off AO JS combine, but Remove unused JavaScript still there.

nothing much AO can do, as the problem is with the amount of JS which AO does not (and can not) change as it does not know what JS is and what is not used on your site.

quick question on this subject:

so basically you suggest to disable the lazy loading from the autoptimize settings, and work with either of these plugins?

have you tested results on your end if it does work better?

The latter one is what will be in WordPress 5.5 and I have indeed tested it but results differ between browsers (Chrome loads a lot more up-front than Firefox does and some other don’t support it yet).

So yeah, Autoptimize will keep on doing JS-based lazyloading for the foreseeable future .. ??

i just took down wp youtube lyte iframe lazyload and removed lazyload from autoptimize,
instead installed – https://www.ads-software.com/plugins/native-lazyload/

mixed results
on desktop, increase of 10 points
mobile decrease of 5 points
