display filename, automatically

We want the image name (filename) to be shown for each picture when displayed.
We know that we can manually copy the filename into the alt&title field but we would like to have the filename displayed automatically when the picture is shown.

Is there a presetting for this?
Or is there a way how we can automatically copy filenames into the alt&title field? (we have thousands of pictures, prefer not to do this manually… )
in the options for the gallery administration we can see the fields and manually do things and there are also “actions”. But when we import or show meta data, then only the image width and height is shown, not the title/filename of each image. Do you have an idea, how we can do this?
