Hi, it’s me again, with a different issue than before (although the original issue still exists).

Last week while testing the plugin and meeting-request process, both the person requesting the meeting and myself received a Google Calendar invite email upon creating a meeting from the booking page on my site.

This week, after asking a couple clients to use the scheduler, all works fine up until after the booking is confirmed. I (the admin) receive the email from WPCal.io that there has been a new meeting booked.

However, neither the user or myself are receiving the Google Calendar invite emails. The meetings appear on my Google Calendar upon creation (checking to see if the client’s calendar receives them), but without that invite email the user has no notification.

Any way to troubleshoot this? This is an important part of the process, and it is a big problem if I can’t count on the plugin delivering the invite emails. If that is not working and I have to manually send calendar invites to my clients, I may as well just go back to the “old” way of scheduling by trading emails back and forth.

I’m going to close this, because I identified the issue. I don’t think it was caused by a bug per se, but seems to be related to how I configured my calendar accounts.

I have a G Suite calendar and a personal Google Calendar and they both have access to an appointment calendar for my business. I had WPCal configured to add events via my personal calendar, but once I switched it to the G Suite one the notifications arrived as expected.

@kuznacic We have set to send a notification to the invitee in Google Calendar API.

According to Google support doc, if a user opted not to receive an email on a new event added to the calendar, they will not get the invitation from Google Calendar.

Let me know if the issue is occurring other than this scenario.

Should we send an additional email directly from the plugin because if the invitee opted out of receiving email there will not have the meeting information other then the calendar?

@wpcal Thanks for the reply. My issue was indeed related to the calendar’s notification settings. I have turned those on and all works as expected.

I imagine that others might have this issue as well, depending on how they have set up their calendar notifications, so it might be something to highlight in the documentation.

I think it would be a good idea to send an email from the plugin to the person requesting the meeting, notifying them that the request was confirmed and including the details like the date, time, etc.

Thanks for all the assistance. I am really liking the plugin so far – it is very nice to have Calendly-like functionality in my WP site!
