403 Error for Language

  • When I clicj on the EN version of this site it gives me a 403 error.

    Access forbidden!
    You don’t have permission to access the requested directory. There is either no index document or the directory is read-protected.

    I tried the following

    – Added the default .htacesss – no change
    – Disabled all plugins bar Polylang – no change
    – Set default theme – no change

    However, when I did the following I had “interesting’results.

    – When I made English the default language (with the star) it worked fine for both languages
    – When I added German and created content it also worked fine.

    It appears that there is something amiss with the /en setting but for the life of me I can’t see the issue.

    Hello,

    The error is sent by Apache. WordPress is not loaded. Maybe you have a /en folder thus preventing WordPress to load when trying to access https://cognac-voyer.com/en/.

    Thanks for the answer. I looked and looked couldn’t find a folder/file or category even.

    In the end I just changed the lang to en_gb and it worked which wasn’t the solution but solved the problem.
