Is the feature “transition words working correctly?”
I have a note at from Yoast at the bottom of my post:

Transition words: Only 26.5% of the sentences contain transition words, which is not enough. Use more of them.

…so I click on the ‘Eye’. Then I have highlighted sentences in purple. That is where Yoast is suggesting me to add some transition words, right?

Well, that is what I have been trying to do. Playing, adding different transition words on different parts of the sentence, make sure it matches the content… But the sentence Is still purple no matter what I do… It’s like Yoast is not identifying transition words in the text.

And when I actually manage to remove ‘purple’ highlight from a sentence, my score is even worse… The percentage value decrease… Isn’t it supposed to increase? How am I supposed to create moe, If I add more the percentage decreases? What is the percentage range for the green bullet?

    Thanks!

  • Hi @somenoma,

This might be a bit counter-intuitive, but for the transition word assessment, the eye icon highlights the sentences with transition words.

This means that you should add transition words to the sentences that are not highlighted in purple to increase the percentage. As soon as you add transition words, the sentences should also appear with the highlight. Is that what’s happening?

You need transition words in at least 30% of sentences in order to get the green light. You can find a more detailed explanation in this guide: https://yoast.com/transition-words-why-and-how-to-use-them/
