• Hi Everyone,

I have 99 problems, LOL. Seriously though, I am thinking one problem is trickling down and creating several?

Here are my problems. If someone can help that would be great. Please note that I have already contact the creators of my theme and they are forwarding part of my problem to their development team (ahh!).

    1) I purchased a pro theme. After uploading and setting everything up, I was able to see all of the themes. But now, rather than seeing all of the themes in my dashboard area, I only see the current one that I have (although it should have another 10+ options), as well as the free version and the original WP theme.

    2) My feature links is a mess. I never touched any html / css on my own – I am a definitely noob when it comes to that stuff. In any case, this is where Ashe’s development team is coming into play. I have contacted them and they are looking everything over.

    3) I cannot edit my single pages (about, contact… etc…). The edit page button is not available on my dashboard. All I have is “All Pages” and “Add New”.

    4) Single pages (ie: About, Contact…) do not have the right sideboard – although that is what I have selected for the them. The Contact page is aligned correctly for a right sideboard… however, the About page is again, a mess. I just don’t understand what is going on, nor do I understand how to fix it.

What I have done so far:

I have deactivated / deleted all plugins that I do not use. I also deactivated everything, logged out, refreshed page, deleted history etc… returned, and still no “edit page” option.

I checked my domain, and yes, my ashe theme file is in the correct place.

What are the next steps? I have zero experience with websites, so please help me in the most easy to follow way. Thank you so much!

  • Do you think there is something wonky going on with your domain name setup ?

How are you using your .htaccess to re-write the URLs like this ?
Bc in your post you reference this :
    https://www.alexisjayne.com
but your page is actually full of :
    https://alexisjayne.com.dream.website

    Why is that?

Can you install a different theme, then have access to Edit Page ?

Can you look at any PHP error logs from your host?

FYI, be sure to add an SSL to your site :
    https://help.dreamhost.com/hc/en-us/articles/216539548-Adding-a-free-Let-s-Encrypt-certificate

You sidebar is printing to the screen :

    View post on imgur.com

but it is a negative value you can see here :

    View post on imgur.com

Which means somehow you are supposed to “click to view” the sidebar.

Did you load in their demo content ?
    https://wp-royal.com/themes/ashe/docs/#demo

Also there is a setting for the sidebar :

Thank you so much for your detailed response.

I do have SSL – I even bought an additional one accidentally (argh) from domain.com and dreamhost just checked my site and it should be fine. My actual site address is:

    https://alexisjayne.com

With regards to the dream.website – that is apparently from a cache? As my domain is quite new… but both domain.com and dreamhost confirm that it is not needed now…

As for the site design, I decided to choose another Ashe look, and was able to set up the first page fine now – the featured links are perfectly aigned.

However, again, I have trouble with the sidebar on the secondary pages. They do not show up, and I do not have access to the Page Option > Sidebar section in my menu…

The WP tech tried his best to help me, but doesn’t know what the problem is, so I am getting a help ticket. I will also forward this email to someone at Ashe pro too.

The thing is, I don’t remember seeing the last image you attached… but I do have the pro version – and now I can see all of the versions on my dashboard (I synced the page… thankfully it worked, LOL).

Thank you so much for your help. I have zero computer knowledge – so I really appreciate that you took the time to look at my site and noticed some issues with it.

I will update if I hear anything from anyone.

    Thank you once again!

Are you sure you’re not using Sidebar Alt as described here :

bc your code says that you are using the sidebar as an overlay.
You should have a look at this as well :

Also, you are still accessing your dream.website address.
Be cure to clear cache, and you should always delete any cache plugins while you are still in development anyway.
If you want to clean up your links, you can use this plugin :

Thank you again for your help – I do have a (alt) sidebar in overlay – if you press the heart on my site’s menu, it will show up… it goes by the name of “sidebar alt” on my dashboard. I use that instead of requiring a left sidebar.

On my set up, I selected one column, one right sidebar for the main blog.

For the single post page I elected one right sidebar. I also have a store option (don’t really have a need for that at the moment – however, it is set up to three columns, no sidebar). And the “other page” is also set to have one column, and one right sidebar.

I forwarded this forum response to someone at ashe pro. Hopefully they will be able to assist me.

I am just wondering why I do not have the “page option” with regards to that final image you sent me?

And yes, I have been deleting my cache ??

Ahh, now I see where you got that image – it’s from the demo site.

No, I never uploaded their demo… I had the free version prior (for a few hours, ha!) … but I think that starting from scratch might have to be my next step.

I will try it and let you know if I was able to resolve anything.

It all looks pretty good now.
I see how the sidebar works from the homepage now.

I uploaded the demo and worked from there… however, there are still no sidebars on the about / contact etc pages… However, on their website, they state that this feature is provided with pro Ashe.

It’s frustrating, to say the least!

I am just going to wait to hear back from the pro Ashe support.

    (@alexisjayne)

But I did notice – there are options to adjust the following on the front page: left sidebar, alt sidebar, right side bar, and footer.

However, there is no left side bar on the front page…

    (@alexisjayne)

    I just had to update…

So I have the settings on all pages for one column, and one right sidebar.

On the about page, there is nothing – just one big blurb.

However, on the contact page, there is now a sidebar – but it’s on the left (although it is set for the right).

LOLOLOL. I am just going to walk away for a bit… as obviously there must be some page/design errors that are beyond my ability to correct it.
