• Hi,

I’m building my portfolio web site by using WordPress. Since I’m customizing pretty much each single page and I’m also done(yeah!). But I just noticed that in the category page full text of each post appear instead of showing the first 55 words automatically.

I might have erased a tag somewhere that’s why it’s not working?? Please let me know if anyone knows what I should do to reactivate the functionality. Many thanks in advance!

  • It’s working everywhere else but that page? How did you set up the function? Are you using a special the_content tag?

Your category page usually uses the template file category.php, or archive.php if that doesn’t exist. It defaults to index.php if neither of those exist. You can check those files for something different…

No, it’s not working at all anywhere. I’m using category-3.php which is a custom template.

Place a copy of category-3.php in the WordPress pastebin and post the pastebin url here. Someone may be able to spot an issue with that template.

I actually I decided to just use “more” tag since the automated excerpt thing only displays texts and not the images. Thanks!
