inserted read later link in template file

Ive inserted de link in a custom template file, and added post id value to the linik programatically, the plug in works fine, it stores the post in the read later page but the custom link doiesnt mantain active satus after refreash, as the original does, can I Replicate the full functionallity adding the link in a custom template php file?
