Meta profile why?

Hi, Storefront puts this in the code, in the meta on every page:

<link rel=”profile” href=”https://gmpg.org/xfn/11″&gt;

First question: why is this included?
Second question: if needed (don’t know why), why not an https? Chrome sees this as a suspicious link.

I prefer to drop it out of the theme.
