The user’s browser remembers form history..

Plausible. Except I “clear recent history” in fire fox, even leave site and return, name & email still there. Should it matter that I am using recaptcha on comment submit?

Nope – that won’t affect what your browser does/doesn’t save one bit.

That’s not how it works. It’s not in your history (which only remembers the HTML and content of the page you visit).

Firefox can remember login information for web pages so that you do not need to re-enter your login details every time you visit. This is basically what’s happening here.

If you flush your cache, wipe your cookies, AND erase all saved information, it’ll stop. For a while. Until you enter it again ??

Create a new profile and see if the problem occurs, if not then you know it’s saved form data or history from the old profile..

This way you don’t have to remove any cookies or data from your regular profile… ??
