Announcements icon count

Sent an announcement and read it on a vendor test account but it still shows as the vendor having an unread announcement. When does that count of 1 announcement notification go away?

According to here, https://wclovers.com/forums/topic/announcements-icon-from-vendor-profile/ it was supposed to be “fixed on the next release” a year ago.
