• I tried indexing “some” with “_sku” and “all” custom fields. When I did “some” it wouldn’t return any matches. When I did all it would send you to the incorrect page.

However in admin search it brings up multiple pages (when I indexed “all”). Search results seem to work perfectly fine with everything else. I’m using Flatsome theme.

    Example:
Searching the SKU “0918-500” should bring you to this page: https://diagraphsnyder.com/catalog/product/gp-x-classic-marker/?attribute_color=Black

It works in the theme’s live search, but I can’t get it to work right with the search results. Flatsome developers said there search function only works with live search and I would need a plugin to do anything with the search results page (which led me to Relevanssi.)

Any help or guidance would be greatly appreciated!

Is that a product variation SKU? If you want to index variation SKUs for the main product, see this: https://www.relevanssi.com/knowledge-base/indexing-product-variation-skus-main-product/

Relevanssi doesn’t link directly to attribute pages like that, Relevanssi can get you a link to https://diagraphsnyder.com/catalog/product/gp-x-classic-marker/

It is a variation sku (sorry forgot to mention that) and I tried that with no luck as well before.

I just changed the indexing back to “some” and added “_sku” and added that code to my child theme’s functions.php file and searched 0918-500 and it still comes up as no products were matching.

Does it work if you search with the Relevanssi admin search (Dashboard > Admin search)?

    (@tigerbite)

Yes, it brings up all my items where the SKU ends with 500.

Then it seems your search may not be using Relevanssi. Are you using any other search plugins that might be interfering with the search? Relevanssi should work without problems with Flatsome.

That’s what I thought was weird too which is why I contacted flatsome support. The only plugin i installed that wasn’t part of flatsome is relevanssi.

I can just put the sku in the variation description and be fine, but wanted to reach out before I did all the extra legwork. Can’t figure out why it’s not working properly.

Now it seems to work? I tried searching for “0980-500” and got the right marker page. The dropdown search found nothing, but that’s just not Relevanssi I suppose. The actual search results page does work: https://diagraphsnyder.com/catalog/?s=0980-500&post_type=product

That sku doesn’t exist so I have no idea why it directs to that page.

Unless it just picked up the “-500” part. Because I put the sku “0918-500” in the description of one of the variations on that product.

It’s the “500”, the default setting in Relevanssi is to replace dashes with spaces (since you have dashes in the SKUs, you probably want to change that setting in Advanced indexing settings to just remove the dashes).
