    Hi,

I’ve done the localisation of WooCommerce PDF Invoices & Packing Slips into Finnish language and I’m trying to install it, but for some reason it doesn’t the update when I delete the WPML from my WordPress installation. Normally the language package shouldn’t need the WPML pluging to work.

The currently available Finnish language package has lots of mistakes and needs improvement, which is why I localised again completely.

    I’ve placed the language files:
    woocommerce-pdf-invoices-packing-slips-fi.po and woocommerce-pdf-invoices-packing-slips-fi.mo

    at the following directories
    /wp-content/languages/plugins
    /wp-content/plugins/woocommerce-pdf-invoices-packing-slips/

    What I’m doing wrong?

    Thanks for the help,

    Jan-Erik

    Hello Jan-Erik,
WPML should indeed not be required for this – in fact, we only offer full WPML support through our Professional extension.

That said, if you are not using any multilingual plugins, our plugin follows the same convention of language selection that WooCommerce itself does, meaning that:

    • If and admin opens a PDF in the backend, this will be in the user profile language of that admin user
    • If an admin sends an email to the customer that has the PDF invoice attached, it will be in the frontend site language
    • If a customer downloads a PDF from their account ,it will be in the frontend site language

Is it possible your admin is not set to Finnish?

Can I add you to the translation team for this plugin on www.ads-software.com so that your improvements will benefit the other users as well?

    Hi

Thanks for the quick answer, and yes, the WordPress admin is set to Finnish.

I have already submited the improvements, but yes, please do add me to the translation team so I can submit the improvements.

In that case I’m not sure why the translations are not applying. The plugin checks for translations in the following order:

    1. /wp-content/languages/woocommerce-pdf-invoices-packing-slips/woocommerce-pdf-invoices-packing-slips-LOCALE.mo
    2. /wp-content/languages/plugins/woocommerce-pdf-invoices-packing-slips-LOCALE.mo
    3. /wp-content/plugins/woocommerce-pdf-invoices-packing-slips/languages/woocommerce-pdf-invoices-packing-slips-LOCALE.mo

You mention you put them in both number 2 and 3, so the only reason I can think for the translations not loading properly is when there already is a translation in number 1. Can you check that? Are you not using any other translation plugins (like Loco translate) that could be overriding this?

@finlander Would you please alter your translation! The word l?hetyslapu is incorrect, please put it back to l?hetyslista as it was. I have no time to make that change to all our customers who uses this plugin.
