  • yeah i was wondering that too.. In addition it says “Completed, check the comments tab for any pending comments”.. where is the comments tab? i checked dashboard, where you see the pending comments but nothing new from facebook..

i’ve another problem: in my wordpress installation it works fine when i update manually… but it doesn’t update anything when i hope it scan my profile hourly or daily…
    anybody can help me?
    thanks

If your posts are in other languages the parser sometimes cannot find them, if anyone is able to fix that it’d be great.

If your posts are in english then you are using something other than standard Facebook notes. This plugin only supports standard facebook notes imported from wordpress, not any extention or plugins used to integrate the two just basic ol rss imported facebook notes.

For the timer person, a new release is coming out shortly, check it against that if it still doesnt auto scan go over your php config cause it works for me and about 500 other people just fine, if you figure out what config messed it up or if .18 fixes it I can make a FAQ entry

What exactly can I do to my WP php config files to get this work? Please explain? I’ll also pay you if you can make it work.

It doesn’t work for me, either. It reports success, and produces a list of posts, but none of the comments appear. Apart from one, anonymous blank comment in the latest post?

It’s a shame, because my blog comments are dead, but my FB notes are quite lively.

Is this because Facebook change their HTML? Is it Facebook wanting the internet to be completely inside their templates?

More info – the Anonymous blank comment is dated with a unix timestamp of 0 – January 1, 1970. Dunno if this is important or helpful.

Sorry about the triple post, I’ve decided to grow a pair and start rooting around in the code. It appears to be a problem with Facebook.

When I go to the mobile version of the site (this is what TNG connects to), the comments are all blank, anonymous, and dated Jan 1, 1970. So it’s perfectly possible that TNG is dutifully ignoring identical posts, and that’s why I just get that one post on my latest entry.

Is there any way to spider the non-mobile version of the page, or is that a parsing nightmare?

(TNG spiders this page: https://m.facebook.com/notes.php?locale=en_US – check for yourself about the comments bug)

I had a bunch of people hassling them with bug reports every day here: https://www.philtopia.com/?p=542

It’s fixed now and works fine

It used to work (loved the plugin!!!), but now doesn’t. Hasn’t got to do with language (last time it worked my posts were in Dutch and I did receive the comments). Could it have to do with Basti’s suggestion (on your blog at 2010.03.26 00:23 about Facebook blocking the plugin? Then what should I do to have Facebook ask me again if it’s legit?
When I do the test it does see the notes. But when I do manual update, it doesn’t pull anything in (also not empty ones).

    Any suggestions?

Weird: I just did detect the comments in my post-edit page. But they don’t show up in the comments page nor on the front side of the website.
When I edit a comment from the post-edit page, it starts appearing…

Well this plugin is kind of a hack, I am not surprised facebook is getting flakey on allowing it to work now that it’s a bit popular

i installed it, entered my fb email and password, saved it, clicked “test” and it shows me a big empty frame where i’m assuming thats where the imported comments are suppose to be. when i click “manual update” it says its completed and to check my comments tab for pending comments. i check my comments tab but theres nothing pending. this addon doesnt appear to be working. at least not for me.
