Apple Pay on Cart Page – not respecting shipping methods

Version 5.8.1 brings support for the Apply Pay button on the Product and Cart pages which is excellent, thank you for that.

However the Apply Pay button on the Cart page does not respect the selected shipping method on that same page; it always defaults to the first/default method regardless of what is selected.

In my case I offer 2 shipping methods, option A (standard) and option B (premium).
If the customer selects option B on the Cart page and starts payment via the new Apple Pay button, then the Cart Total screen in Apple Pay always starts payment which includes option A.

Please check if this can be fixed.
